About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function across our UK manufacturing operations. This is a standalone role based at our Westbury site, with responsibility also supporting our manufacturing facility in Mardy.

This is a broad and dynamic role requiring a pragmatic HR professional who can operate across both operational delivery and strategic influence. You will act as a trusted advisor to leadership while remaining fully involved in day-to-day HR activity.

Key ResponsibilitiesFull Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, and offboarding
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to managers and employees across both sites
  • Ensure consistent and compliant HR practices across the organisation

Recruitment & Workforce Planning
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across manufacturing and business support roles
  • Partner with managers on role design, job descriptions, and selection processes
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical roles
  • Implement and improve recruitment processes and tools (ATS, sourcing strategies)

Employee Relations & Employment Law
  • Manage all employee relations cases end-to-end (disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance)
  • Provide clear, risk-aware advice to managers
  • Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies

Manager Coaching & Capability Building
  • Coach and support managers in people management best practices
  • Deliver guidance and training on:
  • Performance management
  • Conducting investigations and hearings
  • Effective recruitment and interviewing
  • Build management capability to improve consistency and reduce risk

HR Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
  • Own and manage HR systems (HRIS, personnel records, reporting tools)
  • Review, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Identify and drive process improvements across the HR function
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and audit readiness

Organisational Change & Projects
  • Support organisational change initiatives including restructures, role redesign, and workforce planning
  • Provide HR input on business transformation and operational changes
  • Lead or support HR-related projects as required

Stakeholder & Leadership Support
  • Act as a trusted advisor to directors and site leadership teams
  • Support business planning with workforce insights and recommendations
  • Contribute to building a high-performance and accountable culture

HR Reporting & Analytics
  • Produce monthly HR reports for directors
  • Analyse key HR metrics (absence, turnover, recruitment, engagement)
  • Present insights, trends, and recommendations to leadership and wider teams

Engagement, Culture & Employee Experience
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives across both sites
  • Organise and coordinate company events and activities
  • Support retention, morale, and employer brand development

Multi-site Responsibility
  • Provide HR support across both Westbury and Mardy sites
  • Travel regularly to ensure visibility, consistency, and strong working relationships

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a standalone or highly autonomous HR role
  • Strong background within manufacturing, industrial, or operational environments
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations cases
  • Experience across full employee lifecycle and recruitment
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience with HR systems and process improvement

Desirable
  • CIPD Level 5+ (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in multi-site organisations
  • Experience supporting organisational change (e.g., restructures, TUPE)

Additional Information
