Role Overview

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician based in Bishop Auckland, supporting flow testing and calibration projects for gas infrastructure. It s a hands-on, practical role working closely with engineers and technicians, contributing to safety and the energy transition.

A practical, technical role suited to someone with electrical qualifications and hands-on experience, looking to grow in a specialist, safety-critical environment within the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide E&I support for testing projects and instrumentation setup
  • Ensure equipment meets industry standards and delivers accurate results
  • Record, validate, and manage data and maintenance records
  • Support electrical maintenance and general operations
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in safety activities
  • Communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical (City & Guilds)
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification
  • Experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and hazardous areas
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • Good organisation, teamwork, and adaptability
