Tax AccountantOutskirts of Stevenage (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Salary up to £60,000 per annum
We're working with a well-established and growing business looking to bring in a Tax Accountant to strengthen their finance function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad tax remit, partnering with the wider business, and playing a key role in ensuring compliance while adding commercial value.
Reporting into the Head of Tax, you'll be a key point of contact for all tax-related matters across multiple entities.
This is a varied position combining compliance, reporting, and business partnering.
You will:
- Prepare and review corporate tax computations and returns across multiple entities
- Support quarterly tax reporting, including forecasts and budgeting inputs
- Assist with statutory reporting, including IFRS-related tax disclosures
- Analyse tax data and provide insights to support decision-making
- Work closely with the wider finance team and non-finance stakeholders
- Support VAT and indirect tax processes, including property-related VAT where applicable
- Liaise with HMRC and external advisors
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in tax processes and controls
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Get involved in ad hoc projects across the group
About YouWe're looking for someone who is both technically strong and commercially aware.
You'll ideally have:
- A recognised qualification (ATT, ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent)
- Solid experience in corporate tax and compliance
- Exposure to VAT and broader tax matters
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Confidence working with financial systems (e.g. Alphatax or similar - beneficial but not essential)
- Advanced Excel capability
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
