GSL Education are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant with PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) experience to join a supportive and forward-thinking alternative provision setting in Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional behavioural, emotional, and social needs.

• Support students with SEMH, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs.
• Work one-to-one or in small groups to help students engage with learning.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and help implement behaviour support plans.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage progress and confidence.
• Support students' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and school policies always.

• Previous experience working in a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH setting (essential).
• A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
