Occupational Therapist - SEN / SEMH Setting - East London - Stratford
Full Time Permanent Role 37.5 Hours per Week
44,101 - 49,447 per annum

Long Term Futures are recruiting a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a specialist education setting in East London, supporting children and young people with complex needs, SEMH and neurodiverse profiles.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering targeted therapeutic interventions that support pupils in accessing education, developing independence and improving emotional and sensory regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and intervention
  • Support pupils with sensory, physical and functional needs
  • Contribute to and implement EHCP targets and therapeutic plans
  • Develop sensory programmes and communication passports
  • Work closely with teaching staff to adapt the learning environment
  • Provide training and guidance to school staff on therapeutic strategies
  • Work collaboratively with families and external professionals
  • Monitor and evaluate progress using evidence-based approaches


Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASD or complex needs
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration and therapeutic approaches
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • A proactive, compassionate and solution-focused approach


Desirable Experience:

  • Experience supporting pupils with high-risk or complex behavioural needs
  • Background in education or specialist settings
  • Knowledge of therapeutic frameworks such as sensory-based interventions or trauma-informed practice
