Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised part time Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance department. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a proactive approach to managing financial data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across key processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate coding and posting
  • Assisting with sales invoicing and credit control activities
  • Reconciling bank statements and supplier accounts
  • Supporting month-end processes, including journal entries and accruals
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assisting with payroll administration where required
  • Handling queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting audits and compliance checks
  • General administrative support to the finance team

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero,)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable
