Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised part time Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance department. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a proactive approach to managing financial data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across key processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate coding and posting
- Assisting with sales invoicing and credit control activities
- Reconciling bank statements and supplier accounts
- Supporting month-end processes, including journal entries and accruals
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Assisting with payroll administration where required
- Handling queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting audits and compliance checks
- General administrative support to the finance team
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero,)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable
