Location: Glasgow-site based role

Contract: Part-Time, Permanent

Hours: 16 hours per week

Occupational Health Technician - Health Surveillance

Job Purpose

To support the Occupational Health (OH) service by delivering high-quality health surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments, and wellbeing screening in line with HSE guidance and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Health Surveillance
  • Conduct statutory health surveillance programmes including audiometry, spirometry, HAVS Tier 1 & 2 assessments, vision screening, and skin checks.
  • Accurately record and interpret results, escalating abnormalities to a clinician.
  • Maintain calibration and functioning of all OH equipment.


Clinical Duties
  • Complete new starter health questionnaires and baseline screening.
  • Provide lifestyle and health promotion information.


Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with GDPR and OH guidelines using OH software Cority.
  • Plan and schedule onsite and offsite health surveillance clinics.
  • Produce reports, statistics, and follow-up documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations relevant to health surveillance.


Skills & Experience Required

Essential
  • Experience delivering clinical or health-related assessments.
  • Ability to perform health surveillance tests following training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Competent IT skills.


Desirable
  • Approved training in audiometry, spirometry, HAVS
  • Experience in an occupational health setting.
  • Knowledge of HSE legislation relevant to the role.

Typical Qualifications
  • Training in audiometry/spirometry (or willingness to undertake).
