Job Description

The Royal Academy of Music is a creative and vibrant workplace with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 60 countries. Many of the world's leading musicians and performers have studied with us and we are firmly focused on developing tomorrow's musical leaders in a number of disciplines, including Classical Performance, Composition, Opera, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. Integral to the musical training we offer is the opportunity to perform; in an average year, the Academy runs a vibrant programme of around 500 events.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled individual with up-to-date sector knowledge and significant experience gained in a Higher Education Registry environment. Relevant experience in the Conservatoire sector or an arts-based/musical background would be highly advantageous. The post-holder will line-manage key professional services staff across three teams under the Registry division, and will be the lead systems user within the Registry team as well as holding delegated responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of student records.

An excellent team player and enthusiastic and experienced manager, you will have responsibility for the activities and staff of the Registry with particular oversight of all post-admission and assessment activities, working with colleagues in the team to provide an efficient working partnership with students and staff. You will play a critical role in the operation of the Academy's examination boards and the conferment of awards.

Therefore significant student records management experience is essential as is a good knowledge and understanding of the completion of statutory student data returns to HESA and the Office for Students.

To be successful in this role you will have proven knowledge and experience of managing core aspects of student academic administration, together with excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of seniority. You will also need outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop policies, procedures, and systems.
