Architectural Technologist

A well-established and busy design studio in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated professional looking to take the next step in their career while working on innovative commercial schemes, mixed-use developments, and high-end bespoke residential projects.

Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, and coordinated design information to a high professional standard.
• Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
• Develop and review technical solutions for steel frame and reinforced concrete structures.
• Provide technical input on below-ground construction, including foundations, retaining structures, and waterproofing.
• Ensure all documentation complies with current UK Building Regulations and relevant statutory requirements.
• Support site teams by addressing technical queries and assisting with construction-stage challenges.
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and maintain internal technical standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in an Architectural Technologist role.
• Proven experience with steel frame, reinforced concrete, and below-ground construction.
• Strong technical knowledge of basement and foundation design.
• Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, or similar design software.
• Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
