Bench Hand / Quality Inspection & Assembly Technician
Location: Shipley
Salary: £29,750
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday Thursday: 6:00am 2:00pm

  • Friday: 6:00am 11:30am

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Bench Hand to join our prestigious engineering client in Shipley. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that high-quality products are precisely assembled, inspected, and tested to meet strict industry and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

As Bench Hand, you will:

  • Inspect components and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards

  • Assemble and test products on the workbench using hand tools and technical processes

  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to fit, deburr, and finish parts

  • Record inspection data and ensure accurate documentation

  • Provide constructive feedback to the continuous improvement team

  • Perform effective end-of-shift handovers to ensure workflow continuity

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workbench area

  • Adhere to company quality procedures, safety regulations, and production targets

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in bench fitting, assembly, or precision hand skills within an engineering environment

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, procedures, and inspection methods

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities

  • Good communication skills and a proactive mindset

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
