Job Description

We re working with a global, market leading engineering consultancy to recruit an Associate Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their high performing Development team based in Newcastle.

This is a senior technical and leadership opportunity, ideal for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, shaping development schemes and building trusted client relationships on complex residential and mixed use projects.

The role

You ll play a key role in delivering development led civil infrastructure projects from early planning stages through to detailed design and implementation. Acting as a technical lead and project manager, you ll take ownership of quality, programme and budget while mentoring engineers and influencing regional growth.

Responsibilities

You ll provide technical leadership across civil infrastructure design, acting as Project Director or Project Manager on a wide range of schemes. The role includes coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, managing fees and commercial performance, leading drainage, highways, utilities and SuDS strategies, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting bids, tenders and client development activities. You ll work closely with planners, developers, architects, local authorities and internal teams.

About you

You ll be degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or similar) with strong experience in development focused infrastructure projects. Chartered or Incorporated status is desirable, along with proven leadership, project management and commercial awareness. You should be comfortable managing stakeholders, leading teams, and driving high technical standards while supporting the development of others.
