We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, Whessoe Engineering, for a Section Head Process / Process Safety / Instrumentation / Electrical to join their engineering delivery team based in Darlington.

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and line management to a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant and cost-effective design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
This role is well suited to an established engineering leader or a Principal Engineer with line management experience looking to progress into a senior leadership position.

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and line management to a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant and cost-effective design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and line management to a team of approximately seven engineers
- Coordinate engineering resources across both project delivery and tender activities
- Ensure designs are delivered in line with time, cost and quality expectations
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and legislative requirements
- Collaborate with project management and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical challenges
- Support business development activities, including client engagement and technical discussions
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and standards
- Mentor, coach and manage team performance
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional qualification
- Demonstrable experience within process or process safety engineering in hazardous process plant environments
- Experience leading or supervising engineering teams within project delivery settings
- Strong knowledge of European and North American engineering codes and standards
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational capabilities
- Experience with cryogenic handling and storage systems
- Knowledge of tank design and associated equipment
- Experience supporting tendering and business development activities
- Familiarity with software such as HYSYS and Office 365
