Technical Sales Engineer

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting:

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer for a permanent position based with our client in Scotland

Immediate start available (Subject to the interview process)

Salary is 40,000 to 60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

This will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am till 5:00pm

The successful candidate will join one of the most technically advanced commercial teams within the cold rolled steel sector.

This role will focus on new business development while maintaining and growing existing clients across Scotland and Ireland.

This position is fully remote, with travel required for:

• sales meeting at the factor,
• Customer meetings (in person and via Microsoft Teams)
• Preparation of estimates and quotations

The role also includes responsibility for ensuring sales are delivered in full and that payments are received in line with agreed terms.

The successful candidate will sell into the purlin, mezzanine, and infill walling markets, with additional capability to offer laser cutting, pressing, and fabrication services.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' sales experience within the cold rolled steel sector
• Strong understanding of:
• Steel framed buildings
• Purlin and rail systems
• Mezzanine floor joists
• SFS infill systems
• Experience in estimating cold rolled from general arrangement (GA) drawings
• Excellent time and territory management, with the ability to plan routes, visits, and follow-ups efficiently
• Strong rapport-building skills, developing genuine relationships with a wide range of customers

Qualifications and Skills

• Dynamics 365
• CRM databases
• SharePoint
• Microsoft Office
• Engineering HNC or degree
• Full UK driving licence
