Skilled Gardener

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Gardener to join our experienced and welcoming team on a private estate in the Chiltern Hills.

This family weekend home features herbaceous borders, shrub beds, formal and informal lawns, wildflower meadows, a kitchen garden, and a glasshouse. Projects on the organic wider estate offer excellent scope for horticultural involvement.

Working under the direction of the Head Gardener, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the gardens to a high standard while further developing the displays and their horticultural expertise.

• Propagation, planting, pruning, hedge cutting, mowing, strimming, and seasonal lawn care
• Irrigation, staking, composting, and pest and disease management
• Maintenance of herbaceous borders and productive gardens
• Safe operation of horticultural tools and machinery
• Occasional assistance across the wider estate
• Liaising with owners and staff to support smooth estate operations

• Minimum RHS Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong theoretical and practical horticultural knowledge
• Professional, motivated, and proactive approach
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
