Component Engineer

Our client, a highly regarded organisation operating within the defence and advanced engineering sector, is seeking a Component Engineer to join their Component Engineering function. This role plays a key support position across engineering and the wider business, delivering technical guidance, robust data management, and high-quality component support.

This opportunity would suit an individual with strong component knowledge who enjoys working within a structured, multi-disciplinary engineering environment.

The Component Engineer will be part of a collaborative team responsible for providing technical advice, managing component data, liaising with suppliers, and responding to internal stakeholder queries. The role combines technical understanding with strong administrative and quality-focused processes.

• Responding to component-related support queries from internal stakeholders
• Processing and maintaining component data, including lifecycle, export control, and REACH/RoHS compliance
• Completing departmental administration tasks in line with defined processes
• Providing support across electronic, electrical, mechanical, or materials commodities
• Raising and managing requests with suppliers as required
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team

• Proven knowledge and experience of engineering components and parts
• An engineering degree or equivalent relevant industry experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
