Job Description

The role

Oxford High School is looking for a strategic and dynamic Head of Admissions to lead our busy admissions team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape our admissions strategy, enhancing both the school's visibility and applicant experience from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

In this pivotal role, you will provide both operational leadership and strategic oversight of the admissions function, ensuring a seamless and customer-focused journey for prospective families. You will manage the Admissions team, fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture through clear direction, coaching and professional development, while maintaining the highest standards of service and delivery.

You will oversee the full admissions cycle, ensuring every stage reflects the values and ethos of the school by building strong relationships with prospective families, feeder schools and key stakeholders to enhance the school's reputation and appeal. You will take ownership of our admissions policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with school values.

Working closely with colleagues from across the school, you will develop and deliver strategies to increase enquiries, applications and conversion rates, identifying and pursuing new opportunities for student recruitment at local, national and international levels. You will also lead the planning and delivery of recruitment and admissions events, including open days, taster sessions and assessment days.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with proven leadership experience in admissions, marketing, business development or a similar customer-facing role, who can bring strong strategic thinking and a track record of delivering growth. You will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a wide range of audiences, along with experience in developing and refining high-quality communications across multiple channels.

You will be confident using CRM and admissions systems such as SIMS, along with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and will demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate teams, manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement.
