The right person

We are looking for a talented Assistant Site Manager to join our team in Kent, working full-time on one of our active development and refurbishment sites. The project is a 600-bed student accommodation refurbishment, undertaking full transformation of the living quarters, improving utilities and amenities and creating better accommodation for the students.

As our new Assistant Site Manager, you will be part of a team working on detailed project plans, setting out timelines, budgets and resource allocation to ensure each scheme is delivered successfully. You will coordinate a multidisciplinary team of construction professionals, subcontractors and suppliers, guiding them through all stages of the build.

You will uphold the highest levels of quality and compliance throughout the construction process, ensuring all works meet both industry regulations and internal standards. You will also take ownership of cost control, monitoring budgets, identifying efficiencies and managing risks to keep each project on schedule and within financial targets. Regular communication with stakeholders will be essential, providing clear updates, addressing concerns and ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, you will oversee procurement activity, negotiate and manage contracts, ensure regulatory compliance, and report directly to the Construction Director.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will ideally hold a SMSTS card and bring proven experience as a Construction Site Manager, particularly within residential high-rise projects, along with strong technical knowledge and familiarity with construction management software. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, sound decision-making abilities, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to lead teams confidently and maintain strong working
