Job Description

We are working with a well established and forward thinking business who are looking to recruit a Sales Account Manager on a full time maternity cover basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong commercial experience to step into a varied role managing key accounts and driving business growth within an international market.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of strategic customer accounts whilst identifying new business opportunities to support continued growth. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in delivering sales performance, maintaining strong client relationships, and contributing to overall business strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, ensuring strong and lasting relationships
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's product range
  • Identify new markets and business opportunities to drive growth
  • Generate new leads through cold calling and face to face meetings
  • Maximise profit margins in line with budgets and market conditions
  • Manage international B2B sales, including multi currency transactions
  • Ensure all customer contracts and obligations are fulfilled
  • Provide market insights and updates to customers
  • Work towards and exceed sales targets and KPIs
  • Support monthly S&OP activity and provide regular sales forecasts
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service

Supporting team performance

  • Work collaboratively with the Commercial Manager and wider team
  • Contribute to the overall sales strategy
  • Maintain strong communication across the business
  • Understand and manage credit risk within the customer portfolio
  • Promote a positive and compliant working culture

Skills and experience required

  • Previous sales experience within a commercial environment
  • Experience managing mid to high level customer accounts
  • Proven track record of delivering against sales targets and budgets
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Confident managing multiple accounts and priorities
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach
  • Ability to think creatively and challenge existing processes
  • Understanding of compliance and regulated environments
