Role: Manual Lathe MachinistLocation: Harlow, CM20Hours: Full timeSalary: £15.00 - £17.50 per hour

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Manual Lathe Machinist to join our clients successful team.

Duties of a Manual Lathe Machinist:

  • Operating manual lathes to manufacture and repair precision components

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and CAD models

  • Setting and adjusting machines to required specifications

  • Machining components in a range of metal and plastic materials

  • Carrying out milling, grinding and assembly duties where required

  • Working to tight tolerances and quality standards

  • Using measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers

  • Supporting the repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes and related industrial equipment components

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment

  • Supporting production deadlines and workshop efficiency

What we would like from you:

  • Previous experience operating manual lathes

  • Strong understanding of machining principles and workshop practices

  • Experience with milling, grinding or general mechanical assembly

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Experience machining metal and plastic materials desirable

  • Good knowledge of measuring equipment and tolerances

  • Mechanical aptitude with tooling, fixtures and machine setup

  • Reliable with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
