Job Description

To operate shot blasting equipment to clean, prepare, and finish metal components within a heavy engineering environment. The role ensures products meet required quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working area. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate shot blasting machinery in accordance with training and safety procedures
  • Load and unload components safely into blasting equipment
  • Prepare surfaces of metal parts by removing rust, scale, or contaminants
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure required finish and quality standards are met
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any faults or issues
  • Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery
  • Handle materials and components safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment
  • Follow production schedules and supervisor instructions
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments

Health & Safety

  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety procedures and site policies
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory and eye protection where required
  • Ensure safe handling of materials and operation of machinery
  • Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately

Working Hours

  • Shift: 21.00-06.00 Monday - Thursday (Evening Shift)
  • Flexibility may be required to meet business needs
