Job Type: Full-time - Term Time Only

Hours: 35.5 hours per week (8:30am - 4:05pm, Monday to Friday)

Are you passionate about supporting young people to make positive behaviour choices and succeed in school? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Officer to join a dynamic secondary school, working closely with students to support behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement.

This is a rewarding and varied role where you will play a key part in supporting students' behaviour and personal development. You will oversee the internal referral room, support students in reflecting on their behaviour, and provide targeted mentoring to help them overcome barriers to learning. Working closely with the pastoral team, you will help implement behaviour strategies, analyse behaviour data, and support interventions that promote positive outcomes for students.

• Manage the day-to-day running of the internal referral room, ensuring a calm and productive environment
• Provide 1:1 mentoring and support for students with SEMH needs
• Develop and implement pastoral support plans
• Analyse behaviour data to identify trends and support targeted interventions
• Support reflection processes, helping students understand and improve their behaviour
• Supervise after-school detentions
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents/carers
• Maintain accurate records of behaviour incidents, interventions, and student progress
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful school culture at all times

• A calm, patient, and resilient individual with strong interpersonal skills
• Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with challenging behaviour
• Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model for young people
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and student wellbeing
