Openr is transforming how the hospitality industry manages and shares data. By centralising recipe, product, and pricing information, we help hospitality businesses seamlessly connect to platforms like Deliveroo and Just Eat, as well as EPOS and other customer touch points.
We've recently closed a significant funding round and are backed by Azzurri Group, one of the UK's most successful hospitality investment platforms. With strong market traction, we're growing our engineering team.
About the RoleWe're looking for a mid level engineer to join our small, collaborative engineering team. This is a hands on role where you'll be writing code every day, contributing to real product decisions, and growing your skills alongside experienced engineers who are invested in your development.
You'll work across the full stack. You do not need to have done it all. What matters is that you're curious, care about your craft, and want to keep getting better.
What You'll Be Working WithOur stack includes TypeScript, React, and React Query on the front end, with AWS Lambda, Node.js, and PostgreSQL on the back end, running on AWS cloud infrastructure.
You don't need experience with every part of this. We care more about how you think and learn than whether you've used a specific tool before.
What You'll Be Doing Building and DeliveringYou'll contribute to building and shipping features, help keep our codebase healthy, and develop your understanding of how to balance speed with quality. Over time, you'll get involved in identifying bottlenecks, improving reliability, and shaping how we build things.
Growing and CollaboratingYou'll work closely with more experienced engineers who'll support your growth, through code reviews, pairing, and open technical conversation. As you grow into the role, you'll start contributing your own perspective to how we approach problems.
Getting Involved Beyond the CodeWe're a small team, so everyone has a voice. You'll get exposure to product thinking, technical planning, and conversations with non technical colleagues, good preparation for wherever you want to take your career.
What We're Looking For You'll likely have:We're more interested in how you approach problems than how many years you've been doing it.
What We OfferFlexible hybrid working. Two days a week in our Central London office in Farringdon, the rest from wherever works for you.
No out of hours support. We believe great work happens when people have balance.
Real influence. Direct input into architectural decisions and the technical direction of a growing SaaS platform.
A learning culture. Dedicated time and support for developing new skills, working with modern cloud native technologies.
A collaborative team. We genuinely enjoy working together and supporting each other's growth.
BenefitsWe encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. If you're excited about this role but don't tick every box, we'd still love to hear from you. Curiosity and a desire to learn matter more to us than a perfect checklist.
