Air Freight Import Coordinator

Location: Hounslow (Heathrow)

Salary: £29,000 - £30,000

Shift: 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights 07:00 - 19:00)

We're recruiting for an Air Freight Import Coordinator to join a well-established air freight operation based at Heathrow. This is a hands-on operational role where you'll be part of a supportive team managing the smooth flow of import shipments.

This position would suit someone with air freight experience who enjoys working in a structured environment with clear processes and time-sensitive shipments.

You'll be responsible for managing air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery, ensuring the smooth and timely flow of freight through the operation.

The role focuses on making sure shipments are processed efficiently, documentation is accurate, and customers and stakeholders are kept updated throughout the import journey. You will also play a key part in monitoring inbound freight, identifying any potential delays or issues, and ensuring these are resolved quickly to avoid disruption.

A key aspect of the role is maintaining accurate shipment data within internal systems, supporting compliance requirements, and ensuring effective communication between airlines, customers, and internal teams.

• Manage air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery
• Monitor shipment progress and ensure freight is processed within required timeframes
• Liaise with the import gateway and operations teams to support daily workflow
• Prioritise urgent or time-sensitive shipments when required

• Act as a point of contact for customers, airlines, and overseas agents
• Provide clear and timely shipment updates
• Handle queries, delays, and operational issues professionally and efficiently

• Prepare and check import documentation
• Support customs clearance processes
• Ensure all shipment data is accurately maintained in internal systems

• Update tracking systems with shipment milestones
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or missing information
• Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to maintain smooth processing

• Previous experience in air freight imports is essential
• Good understanding of import processes and documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments
• Confident communicator with a professional approach
• Comfortable working a structured shift pattern
