About The Role
  • Grade E £31,537 - £33,699 pro rata pa
  • 18.5 hours per week
  • Substantive

Join our Revenues & Benefits team as a Trainee Area Revenues (Business Rates) Officer and start building a career in local government finance. You'll support the administration of Business Rates, help maintain accurate account records, and provide professional customer service to local businesses - all while receiving structured training and day to day support from experienced colleagues.

What you'll do
  • Assist with billing, account updates, reliefs and exemptions.
  • Handle enquiries from businesses, landlords and agents.
  • Keep records accurate and up to date.
  • Learn to apply Business Rates legislation and local policies.
What you'll bring
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using IT systems.
  • Experience in customer service or administration is helpful but not essential.
