We are looking for a skilled Assembly & Test Technician to support the build, calibration, and testing of complex electrical and electronic systems.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on ensuring products are assembled, tested, and maintained to a high standard. The role also includes supporting repairs, working closely with engineers, and occasionally interacting with customers.

The job you will do:

  • Carry out complex assembly of electrical and electronic equipment to detailed specifications
  • Perform precision calibration, adjustment, and testing using specialist instruments
  • Diagnose faults and support repair and maintenance activities
  • Work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Record and document test results and performance data
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Support engineers in developing and improving assembly and test procedures
  • Contribute to product quality improvements and process efficiency
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and handling of components
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during build and test stages
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams
  • Occasionally liaise with customers or external partners to support technical requirements
  • Plan and manage your own tasks to meet deadlines
  • Produce clear documentation using Microsoft Office tools

About you:

  • Strong hands-on experience in electrical or electronic assembly and testing
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately
  • Experience managing multiple tasks or workflows simultaneously
  • Good understanding of quality and regulatory standards
  • Basic planning and organisational skills
  • Experience working in regulated or high-compliance industries would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project
  • Experience supporting technical products or services for external customers
  • Relevant engineering qualification (Level 3 or higher) preferred OR equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality
  • Practical and methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and organised, with good time management skills
