Primary SEND Teaching Assistant - Behaviour & SEMH Support
Aspire People are seeking a resilient and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs within a primary school setting. This role is ideal for someone who can build strong relationships and support pupils both academically and emotionally.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom and during structured activities
Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Supporting small group interventions and targeted learning activities
Helping pupils re-engage with learning and build confidence
Working collaboratively with teaching staff to implement behaviour support plans
Supporting pupils during transitions and less structured parts of the school day
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with behavioural or SEMH needs
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils
