Therapy Assistant

Full Time Term Time (plus inset days) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to join our specialist team supporting children and young people with additional needs within an educational setting.

About the Role

As a Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direction of qualified therapists to support the assessment and delivery of therapeutic interventions. You will work closely with pupils, staff and families to help embed strategies into daily practice.Key responsibilities include:Supporting therapy programmes as directed by therapistsWorking directly with pupils on individual and group activitiesAssisting in the preparation of therapy resources and equipmentRecording progress and maintaining accurate documentationSupporting staff to implement therapeutic strategies in the classroomPromoting pupil independence, communication and wellbeingThe role may involve supporting pupils with a range of needs, including communication difficulties, sensory needs and physical or learning disabilities.

Essential Requirements

Ability to follow therapy programmes and support interventionsGood written and verbal communication skillsExperience supporting individuals with special educational needsRelevant qualifications or training in therapy, education, or child developmentKnowledge of communication and interaction needs
