Job Description

Commercial Property Solicitor (3-4 PQE) Salary: £50,000-£65,000 DOE Location: Luton (development focus & progression)

If you're a Commercial Property Solicitor who wants to build a clear specialism in development work (or you already have some exposure and want more), this is a standout opportunity with our client, a well-regarded regional law firm with a strong pipeline and an established property team.

Based in the Luton area, this role offers the chance to work on high-quality matters, develop your technical depth, and progress within a supportive, structured environment.

The Role: Commercial Property (Development-leaning)

This is a full-time position where you'll run your own matters and work alongside senior colleagues on more complex development transactions.

You'll be involved in work such as:

  • Development transactions (site acquisition support, set-up matters, plot sales support depending on experience)
  • Sales and purchases of commercial property
  • Landlord & Tenant matters (leases, renewals, variations, assignments)
  • Refinance and secured lending transactions (where relevant)

What you'll be doing day-to-day:

  • Managing files from instruction through to completion with appropriate supervision
  • Drafting and negotiating documentation and dealing with title issues
  • Advising clients clearly on risk, timescales and commercial considerations
  • Building strong relationships with clients and referrers
  • Developing your capability towards Senior Associate level over time
Requirements

To be considered, you'll ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • 3-4 years' PQE in Commercial Property within a UK legal practice
  • A genuine interest in development work (or existing development exposure)
  • Solid grounding in core commercial property transactions (sales/purchases, L&T and/or refinance)
  • Strong drafting skills, attention to detail and a client-first approach

Desirable (not essential):

  • Direct experience supporting on development acquisitions and/or plot sales
  • Experience working with SME, investor or developer clients
Salary & Benefits

Salary: £50,000-£65,000+ depending on experience and fit (benchmarking for 3-4 PQE Commercial Property roles in the regional market)

Benefits typically include:

  • 25+ days annual leave plus bank holidays (often increasing with service)
  • Pension contribution
  • Private medical / health cash plan (often available in firms of this size)
  • Life assurance (where offered)
  • CPD and training support (including development-focused learning where relevant)
  • Clear progression opportunities as you build your development specialism
  • Wellbeing initiatives and employee support (varies by firm)
