Team: Homeless Accommodation and Support Team

About the role

Post Title: Homeless Accommodation Officer (Temporary Accommodation Officer). We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Temporary Accommodation Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vital support to individuals and families experiencing housing challenges.
  • Assist in providing safe, temporary housing solutions.
  • Offer guidance and support to help customers navigate their accommodation needs.
  • Work alongside a dynamic team to ensure the smooth running of temporary housing services.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with diverse people.
  • Empathetic and able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel inside and outside the borough to maintain a portfolio of properties.
  • Immediate reporting to the Temporary Accommodation Coordinator and the Homeless and Housing Options Manager.
  • Satisfactory disclosure under the Disclosure and Barring Service; full employment history must be provided.
  • Successful candidates will be asked for relevant references from the past ten years (character references not accepted).
Working Hours & Location

Normal hours: 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. May be required to work on a rota basis. Base: Town Hall, Bury or any other base within the borough as required.
