Job Description

About The Role

Partner - Dispute Resolution (Commercial Litigation Focus)

Shrewsbury

We are seeking a Dispute Resolution Partner with a strong background in Commercial Litigation to establish and grow a broad disputes practice in Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire region.

This is a rare opportunity to join a firm at the point of new office launch, with the autonomy to build a practice locally - advising across a full spectrum of disputes while being supported by one of the strongest dispute resolution teams in the UK.

Why HCR?
  • Be part of a 70 strong Dispute Resolution team, including 24 Partners, across 12 offices
  • Take a leading role in building a full service disputes practice in our newest office
  • Advise a diverse local and regional client base, with national capability behind you
  • Join a Top 50 firm that offers both scale and flexibility
  • Benefit from clear, transparent pathways for long term career and practice growth
  • Work within a collaborative partner group that actively supports cross referral and team building
The Opportunity

This role will suit a Partner (or aspiring Partner) who is well versed in Commercial Litigation but equally comfortable advising across the full range of dispute resolution matters.

You will play a key role in establishing HCR as a trusted disputes adviser in the local market, building a practice that reflects the needs of regional clients rather than a purely London centric disputes model.

The role will involve:

  • Establishing and leading a Dispute Resolution practice in the Shrewsbury office
  • Advising on a broad mix of disputes, including:
    • Commercial litigation
    • Property disputes
    • Professional negligence
    • General contractual and business disputes
  • Building and mentoring a local disputes team
  • Developing and nurturing client relationships across the region
  • Leveraging your own client following and professional networks
  • Contributing to the wider strategic growth of HCR's national dispute resolution offering
About You

To succeed in this pivotal hire, you will bring:

  • A strong track record in Commercial Litigation, with the confidence to advise across general dispute resolution matters
  • Experience of, or a genuine appetite for, building and growing a local practice
  • The ability to develop trusted adviser relationships with a broad client base
  • Strong business development and networking capability
  • The commercial acumen to devise and deliver a clear, sustainable business plan
  • Excellent people leadership and mentoring skills
Benefits
  • Income protection
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Sight tests / Glasses discounts
  • Car Loans
  • Scottish Widows Pension Scheme
  • 28 days annual leave (plus public holidays)
  • Bonus scheme
  • Electric vehicle scheme
  • Happy People / Perks at Work benefits portal
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • £1/3 gym membership contribution
  • Flu vaccinations
