We are seeking confident, reliable individuals to support secondary schools in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. This role requires professionalism, clear communication, and the ability to manage a classroom environment effectively.
Working across a network of secondary schools, you will deliver pre-set lessons, ensure students remain engaged, and uphold school expectations. This is not a teaching role; instead, it focuses on supervision, behaviour management, and providing a consistent, supportive presence in the classroom.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
- Maintaining a focused and orderly classroom environment
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting students in completing assigned work
Who we're looking for:
We welcome applications from individuals with a range of backgrounds, particularly:
- Graduates considering a career in education who are looking to gain practical classroom experience
- Former or current support staff (e.g. teaching assistants, learning mentors) ready to take on more responsibility
- Youth workers, sports coaches, or community leaders with experience engaging and managing young people
What matters most is your ability to:
- Communicate clearly and confidently with young people
- Establish authority and maintain a calm, controlled environment
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms and school settings
- Approach behaviour management in a consistent and professional manner
Why consider this role:
- Valuable, hands-on experience in secondary school settings
- Flexible working arrangements to suit your availability
- Opportunity to build on existing experience with young people
- No lesson planning or marking responsibilities
Who this role would suit: Individuals who are confident, organised, and comfortable leading a classroom. Whether you are exploring teaching as a career or building on existing experience working with young people, this role offers a practical and rewarding next step.
