Our client is a leading engineering and design consultancy who require a P6 Planner to support their client, a major utilities company, on a range of CAPEX projects.
Candidates must have experience within the utilities sector.
Role Purpose Summary
Reporting to the Reporting and Controls Manager for one of the regional delivery offices, the Project Planner will be responsible for all planning and schedule management activities within the corporate planning tool ensuring a true representation of the Capital Delivery Programme is established and maintained within the corporate planning tool. This will cover both briefed and unbriefed schemes, from concept and initial studies to full funding and project initiation to benefits realisation and closure. The Planner will ensure visibility and alignment with Thames Water s business plan and Performance Commitments throughout. They will also act as an expert adviser, providing support and training to maintain agreed minimum standards and improve the quality of data used for upwards reporting. Close cooperation with the Programme Planners in the Programme Management team to ensure alignment of the overall AMP7 delivery is essential to ensure that any issues can be resolved or escalated as appropriate.
Main Accountabilities
Skills, qualifications, experience:
• Significant experience in applied programme delivery planning experience.
• A track record in hands-on delivery planning, utilising various planning tools, with Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project as a minimum.
• The ability to form good working relationships with different project managers and to adapt to preferred styles of update.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to analyse data and present findings to project managers and senior management teams.
