Head of Scenic - AV Live Events

Our client is a growing, innovative AV event production company, delivering high-quality audio-visual experiences for events of all sizes. With a brand-new warehouse and a budget to build a state-of-the-art scenic division, we're seeking an experienced and self-driven Head of Scenics to take charge and shape the future of this new department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warehouse Setup & Management: Oversee the setup and management of the new warehouse, with full budgetary control.
• Design & Execution: Develop and bring creative scenic concepts to life in collaboration with clients and the production team.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a skilled team (carpenters, fabricators, set designers) in a collaborative environment.
• Freelancer Network: Leverage industry contacts to manage freelance carpenters, designers, and labor for projects.
• Budget Management: Ensure projects stay on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as Head of Scenics, Scenic Designer, or similar role in AV, events, or theatre.
• Strong knowledge of scenic design, carpentry, and event production.
• Experience managing teams and freelancers.
• Ability to manage budgets and deliver cost-effective solutions.
• A solid network of freelance carpenters, designers, and skilled professionals.

Desirable:

• Background in scenic design, carpentry, or set construction.
• Experience with 3D design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino).
• A passion for AV production and event management.
• Experience with large-scale AV events or exhibitions.
