Early Years Chef

At Snapdragons Nursery, we believe that healthy, nutritious food plays a vital role in supporting children's growth, wellbeing, and development.

We pride ourselves on preparing fresh meals using high-quality, locally sourced produce, while creating positive food experiences for the children in our care.

We are looking for a passionate and organised Early Years Chef to join our friendly team.

You will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our children, ensuring all food meets high standards of quality, safety, and nutritional value.

You are directly responsible for all cooking for children, kitchen functions including food ordering, preparation, maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and cleanliness, preparation, portion control.

• To complete relevant paperwork and to follow the "Healthy eating" policy.
• To be aware of special diets / allergies.
• Will be responsible for / oversee all food preparation.
• To liaise with nursery staff regarding food issues, and to carry out any other duties as requested by the Nursery manager / or deputy.
• To complete company "Safer Food Better Business" paperwork daily.
• To follow company "Healthy Eating" policy.
• To follow "Food for Life Served Here" standards.
• Maintain personal hygiene in the kitchen.
• To motivate and lead by example, ensuring you and your team have fun at work and are proud of your efforts.
• To ensure all kitchen staff are aware of their Health and Safety responsibilities and have received adequate training.
• To prepare, cook and present food to the standard required by Snapdragons.
• Promote healthy eating.
• Placing / receiving deliveries with company's allocated suppliers.
• To be responsible for stock rotation and levels.

• Enhanced DBS
• Aged 18 or over
• Level 2 / 3 in Hospitality & Catering (or equivalent)
• A willingness to undertake relevant further training as and when required
