Job Title: Maths Teacher SME

Location: Birmingham, UK

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum

We are an independent school located in Birmingham, UK, catering to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Our school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students to thrive academically and personally. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher SME to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons for students with SEMH/ASC needsUse a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and progressCreate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic successAssess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support to students and their parents/carersCollaborate with other teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for studentsMaintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic progressCommunicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or issuesParticipate in school events and activities, including parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related fieldQualified Teacher Status (QTS)Previous experience teaching Maths to students with SEMH/ASC needs is highly desirableKnowledge and understanding of SEMH/ASC and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordinglyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamWillingness to participate in school events and activities outside of regular school hours
