Legal PA - Charity Probate (Exeter)

We are working with a well-established and highly regarded regional law firm who are seeking an experienced Legal PA to join their specialist Charity Probate team based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and supportive firm offering high quality work and long-term stability.

The firm is looking for a highly organised and personable Legal PA to provide dedicated support to fee earners handling sensitive and rewarding charity probate matters.

The Firm

The Legal PA will join a respected regional practice known for delivering high quality legal services to private clients, charities and beneficiaries. The firm offers a collaborative working culture, strong internal support and a structured team environment.

The Role

The Charity Probate team manage a varied caseload including estate administration, charitable legacies, wills and probate matters, and working closely with executors, beneficiaries and charitable organisations.

You will play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring matters are handled efficiently and with the utmost care.

The role will include:

  • Providing full PA and administrative support to fee earners
  • Managing diaries, appointments and key deadlines
  • Audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
  • Preparing probate documentation and estate administration paperwork
  • Liaising with clients, executors, beneficiaries and charitable organisations
  • Handling sensitive communications with professionalism and empathy
  • Managing file opening, compliance checks and document management
  • Assisting with billing, invoicing and financial administration
  • Organising meetings and preparing relevant documentation
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file records

The Legal PA

You will be a professional, organised and compassionate individual with strong communication skills and the ability to support a busy private client team.

The Legal PA will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Previous experience as a Legal PA or Secretary, ideally within private client or probate
  • Strong organisational and diary management skills
  • Confidence handling sensitive matters with discretion
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Experience in a similar role is essential, those without experience will not be considered
