Compliance Manager

Our client is a long-established manufacturing business based near Newcastle, with operations across the UK and Europe. They work with specialist materials and operate within a highly regulated environment where product quality, accurate technical information and supplier assurance are critical. The organisation has a well-established compliance function, and with ongoing regulatory change across Europe they are seeking a Compliance Manager who can ensure continued adherence to standards while supporting future product and project development.

As Compliance Manager you will be the key subject matter expert for product and process compliance across UK and European operations, while also providing leadership and support to one direct report.Key tasks of this role will include:

• Maintain and evolve existing compliance systems
• Oversee product and process compliance, supplier assurance, certifications and audits
• Monitor regulatory change and provide proactive guidance to Leadership, Technical and Quality teams
• Support technical documentation, product information, and customer-facing teams
• Manage customer claims, material qualification processes and external audit interactions
• Work closely with cross-functional teams across Europe, ensuring clear communication and accurate technical representation

This is a role with genuine influence, balancing hands-on compliance activity with strategic input, risk management and decision-making at senior level.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

• A strong background in product compliance, process compliance or technical regulatory management within a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, product standards, testing and certifications
• Experience managing supplier compliance, audits and material qualification
• Confidence advising senior stakeholders and representing compliance at leadership level
• Strong knowledge around ISO9001
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
