Bonded Stores (Goods In / Stores) role at this large busy precision engineering company. The role supports the smooth day-to-day operation of Goods In and the fixture/jig stores. You'll be responsible for accurate booking in/out of materials, consumables, tooling and subcontract returns, ensuring everything received is correct to order, specification and storage requirements, and providing timely support to the machine shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage goods inwards and dispatch, including releasing materials to the shop floor via the computer/ERP system
- Book in and check materials, consumables and subcontract returns against purchase/order requirements
- Inspect a broad range of goods to ensure compliance with size, grade, release status and specification before booking in
- Maintain correct handling and storage conditions in line with required standards and regulations
- Control and track fixtures and jigs: issue against job cards/raw material prior to CNC loading, then return and re-locate correctly
- Carry out inventory control, ensuring stock locations are accurate and recorded correctly
- Complete stock checks/audits and maintain strong stores organisation and housekeeping
- Move pallets of material, tooling and fixtures between stores and the machine shop (manual handling involved)
- Load/unload vehicles and operate a forklift where required (if licensed)
- Cut bar/billet to required sizes where needed
- Support monitoring of coolant management and briquetting machines
- Coordinate/supervise deliveries and collections as required
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a similar stores / goods in / dispatch role within a manufacturing environment
- Confident using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and paperwork accuracy (stock control/traceability)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Forklift licence
- Understanding of aerospace documentation / controlled environments
