Our client is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor (NQ-5 years PQE) to join its growing Claimant Clinical Negligence team in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor looking to develop their litigation career within a well-established and supportive team, handling high-quality medical negligence cases.

You will manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, working closely with experienced colleagues while maintaining autonomy over your files. The role offers strong career development, flexible working, and exposure to complex and rewarding cases.

The Role

As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload of claimant medical negligence claims and play an important role in delivering excellent client outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence claims from inception to resolution
• Progressing claims through pre-action protocol, litigation, and settlement
• Drafting Letters of Claim, witness statements, pleadings, and settlement documentation
• Identifying cases ready for Letter of Claim (LOC), service, negotiation, or settlement
• Working collaboratively with Senior Solicitors and leadership on case strategy
• Maintaining accurate time recording and case management
• Ensuring high standards of client care and communication
• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues and team members where appropriate

Your Requirements

The firm is keen to hear from candidates who are:

• Newly Qualified - 5 years PQE

• Experienced in managing a litigated claimant clinical negligence or personal injury caseload
• Confident handling files independently with appropriate supervision
• Strong in legal drafting, negotiation, and litigation strategy
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office (Proclaim experience desirable)
• Commercially aware with a client-focused approach
