Job Description

Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (FY area)

Salary: .64 per day (Competitive Weekly Pay)

Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Start Date: ASAP / April 2026

Role Overview

Are you a dedicated support professional with a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning? We are looking for an EHCP Support Worker to join our secondary school team in Blackpool.

This is a specialised role focused on the 1:1 delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). You will be the primary support for a student with complex SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, ensuring they have the stability and guidance required to succeed in a mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individualised Support: Deliver 1:1 interventions as prescribed by the student's EHCP targets.

  • Pastoral Care: Act as a key mentor, helping the student navigate social transitions and manage emotional triggers.

  • Classroom Integration: Support the student within the classroom, adapting learning materials to make the curriculum accessible.

  • Reporting & Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and external agencies to monitor progress and provide feedback for annual EHCP reviews.

  • De-escalation: Use trauma-informed strategies to manage challenging moments with a calm, professional approach.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience working with EHCPs in a secondary school, PRU, or residential care setting.

  • Expertise: A strong understanding of SEMH, Autism (ASD), or ADHD.

  • Resilience: The "Blackpool Grit"-the ability to stay positive and committed even on challenging days.

  • Communication: Ability to build strong, professional relationships with students who may find it difficult to trust adults.

Why Join Us?

  • Trial Days: We offer a 1-2 day paid trial to ensure the school and the student are the right fit for your skills.

  • Path to Permanent: These are not "day-to-day" supply roles. We are looking for long-term staff to join our permanent team.

  • Professional Growth: Access to local CPD training, including Team Teach, Safeguarding Level 3, and Attachment Theory.
