Technical Production Operative - Leeds (LS14)

Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial sector, is hiring for a dedicated Technical Production Operative to join their team in Leeds. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of machinery on site.

• Shifts: 12hours (7-7) Allocated on a weekly basis but generally by crew 2 Days - 2 Nights - 4 Off (Repeat) includes weekends but not bank holiday and there is a shutdown at Christmas.
• Training: The client is reviewing what the training plan will look like; this might initially be on Days Mon-Fri but equally could be 'on crew'
• Pay: 12.88 - 14.17, then 17.36 after 12 weeks

What you'll be doing:
Safely operate machinery following SOPs and instructions, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Conduct routine changeovers, start-up, and shutdown procedures, aiming for continuous improvement using SMED techniques.
Manage materials in line with the production plan to meet weekly demands.
Perform daily checks, adjustments, and defect tagging as part of the R2S process.
Support problem-solving, root cause analysis, and participate in pit stops, pre-briefs, and de-briefs.
Monitor quality standards, report issues, and assist in investigations using Q-EWO.
Follow environmental protocols to minimise waste and handle hazardous materials correctly.
Communicate effectively across shifts, providing clear reports and operational insights.

What you'll bring:
Competence in operating machinery safely and understanding SOPs.
Basic knowledge of AM principles, machine adjustments, and digital tools.
Experience in following safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Flexibility to support shift patterns and adapt to evolving technology.
Minimum of 3 GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science/Engineering or equivalent.
