CNC Machine Operator / CNC Machinist - Precision Engineering

Got People are recruiting for a CNC Machine Operator / CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Hertfordshire.

This growing engineering business manufactures high-quality precision machined components for a range of specialist industries including aerospace, defence, medical, scientific, food production and motorsport.

Due to continued company growth and an expanding order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Operator, CNC Machinist or Machine Shop Operator to join their busy precision engineering and manufacturing team.

This is a great opportunity to work with modern CNC machinery within a professional engineering environment producing high specification components.

Key Responsibilities

Operate CNC machinery including CNC lathes, milling machines and grinding equipment within a precision engineering machine shop

Carry out deburring, finishing and preparation of machined components using hand tools and specialist finishing equipment

Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, vernier callipers and gauges

Work from engineering drawings, job sheets and production instructions

Support the production team with CNC machining, component finishing and quality inspection

Maintain a clean, safe and organised engineering workshop and machine shop environment

Assist with additional production and engineering duties when required

Experience and Skills Required

Previous experience working within a precision engineering, CNC machining or manufacturing environment

Experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes, milling machines or other machine shop equipment

Experience using inspection and measuring equipment including micrometers, vernier callipers and gauges

Ability to carry out deburring and finishing using hand tools and engineering equipment

Basic understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications

Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy

Ability to work effectively within a production, engineering or machine shop team

Flexible and willing to support different areas of the workshop when required

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday 7:30am - 1:00pm
