The role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of the business, providing accurate financial analysis and making recommendations to support decision making.
You will have ownership of a designated area of responsibility aligned to specific practice groups, with regular exposure to senior partners, practice leadership and the CFO.

The Role:
Act as the primary finance point of contact for the designated practice group, building strong relationships with partners and senior stakeholders.
Engage with practice group leaders on regular basis reviewing performance and gather commercial insights.
Produce and deliver financial presentations to practice groups, including performance updates and guidance
Be the go-to contact for partner remuneration related queries, providing clear analysis and explanations
Support international offices in all business partnering activities, helping to embed consistent financial processes and ways of working.
Partner with other teams to monitor fee earner utilisation and analyse headcount movements
Support financial decision-making and accurate budgeting and forecasting assumptions.
Lead the preparation of practice group budgets and forecasts for the designated groups, working closely with group leaders to review, challenge and validate assumptions.
Assist with the firmwide budget process, including planning, preparation, coordination and review, working with international offices.
Maintain and enhance budgeting and forecasting templates, ensuring consistency of approach and submissions across the firm.
Review and analyse practice group financial performance against budget and prior year, with a focus on law firm KPIs including revenue growth, fee earner utilisation, realisation, leverage, and profit margin.
Financial analysis for investment cases and M&A related activity.
Gather, validate and consolidate large data sets from multiple sources, producing clear, concise analysis tailored to support commercial decision-making.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for a range of stakeholders
Drive efficiency improvements through automation and continuous improvement
Support testing and validation and roll-out of newly developed reports
You Will Be / Have:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a dedicated FP&A or commercial finance role, ideally within legal or wider professional services.
Confidence to challenge partners and CFO.
Advanced Excel skills
BI and reporting tools desirable.
Confident communicator
Proven ability to build trust and effective working relationships across the business, including senior leaders and international colleagues.
