A highly regarded regional firm in Preston, known for its first-class reputation in Private Family law, is seeking an experienced and motivated Private Family Solicitor to join its dedicated team. The firm prides itself on delivering high-quality, client-focused advice and fostering a supportive environment for its staff.The Role The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of Private Family matters, including:
  • Divorce and financial remedy work
  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
  • Cohabitation contracts and TOLATA matters
  • Private children issues
  • Non-molestation and occupation orders
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong background in Private Family law who is confident running files from inception to conclusion and providing exceptional client care.Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage a personal caseload of Private Family matters
  • Draft pleadings, agreements, and other legal documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Liaise sensitively with clients and provide clear, practical advice
  • Attend client meetings, oversee execution of documents, and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while contributing to business development initiatives and networking opportunities
  • Keep fully up to date with relevant legislation, case law, and best practice standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor with 2-5 years PQE in Family Law
  • Strong experience in privately funded matrimonial work, including divorce, finances, cohabitation disputes, civil partnerships, and pre/post-nuptial agreements
  • Experience handling non-molestation/occupation orders and private children matters
  • Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, third parties, and referrers
  • Strong technical ability to provide sound legal advice both orally and in writing
  • Confident, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Competent in case management software and Microsoft Office tools
