Senior Estimator - Rail

We re seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in civil engineering projects within the rail sector, particularly in drainage, utilities, and associated infrastructure works. You ll play a pivotal role in developing accurate and competitive tenders for projects across the South East, working closely with our pre-construction, engineering, and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and rail infrastructure projects.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess scope and risk.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to gather cost data and technical information.
• Develop BOQs, take-offs, and cost breakdowns for drainage and utilities packages.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and support bid strategies.
• Support tender presentations and negotiations.
• Mentor junior estimators and support continuous improvement within the estimating team.

About You

• Estimating experience within civil engineering or rail infrastructure.
• Proven experience in drainage, utilities, and earthworks estimation
• Strong understanding of NR (Network Rail) standards and rail site constraints.
• Will consider Senior Estimator without rail experience but must have experience on relevant experience in other civil fields.
