Job Description

Location: Watford (1 day per week) + Site Travel

Cobalt is partnering with a fast-growing, privately owned UK real estate developer with a strong national pipeline and significant capital backing. As part of its next phase of growth, the business is preparing to implement 3D construction printing technology across its development portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor of a genuine innovation initiative and take ownership of rolling out robotic construction printing within a live development environment.

The Role

You will lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of large-scale 3D construction printing systems across UK sites. Working closely with development and delivery teams, you will ensure the technology is commercially viable, operationally efficient and successfully integrated into live projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on suitable 3D construction printing systems (hire or purchase model)

  • Overseeing on-site deployment and operation of robotic printing technology

  • Integrating 3D printing into existing construction workflows

  • Advising leadership on feasibility, materials, cost efficiency and scalability

  • Supporting implementation across multiple UK projects

This role will require approximately one day per week in the Watford office, with regular travel to sites nationwide.

The Requirements

We are seeking someone with proven, hands-on experience in construction robotics or large-scale additive manufacturing.

You will need:

  • Demonstrable experience operating or implementing 3D construction printing systems or robotic construction technology

  • A strong understanding of UK development and construction processes

  • Experience working on live sites, not purely R&D or laboratory environments

  • Commercial awareness, able to assess viability, risk and scalability within a development model

  • Confidence working cross-functionally with delivery, design and leadership teams

The specific robot model is flexible; experience with any established large-scale construction printing systems will be considered.

Why Apply?

  • Be one of the first specialists to implement 3D construction printing within a UK development platform

  • Join a well-capitalised, expanding business at a pivotal stage

  • Shape a capability that could become a core part of the company's future delivery model

  • Operate in a collaborative, entrepreneurial and forward-thinking environment

This is a career-defining opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond theory and drive real-world implementation at scale.
