Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our vibrant team at Grand Pier Limited in Weston super Mare. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems across our amusement rides and attractions, events spaces and back of house areas ensuring safety and operational excellence. Your expertise will contribute to providing a fun and safe environment for our visitors. You will need to be familiar with building management systems and have at least 5 years previous relevant electrical experience.

The Challenge
Join the unique engineering team at The Grand Pier. This is a critical dual-role position requiring an experienced, certified electrician who can also fulfil site engineering and project management duties in a demanding, 364-day-a-year commercial and marine environment.
Key Requirement: Certification
You must be a fully qualified and certified electrician with a valid C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration with a UK Competent Person Scheme (e.g., NICEIC/NAPIT).
You will be the site's authority, legally responsible for self-certifying and signing off on all notifiable electrical work (EICs, MEIWCs, and EICRs).
Core Responsibilities
• Hands-on Maintenance: Execute planned and reactive maintenance across all Pier electrical systems (three-phase, distribution, fire alarms, emergency lighting).
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure all installations adhere strictly to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Site Management: Oversee external contractors and manage technical projects and maintenance schedules.
• Technical Authority: Provide specialist fault finding and technical support across the entire site infrastructure.
Essential Qualifications
• C&G NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• C&G 2382 (18th Edition).
• C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing) mandatory.
• Proven history in commercial/industrial electrical maintenance.
Inspect electrical equipment to identify hazards or defects
Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations
Collaborate with maintenance team to schedule repairs and upgrades
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and outstanding works
Assist in the installation of new electrical systems for rides and attractions
Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime
Qualifications
Proven experience as an electrician with knowledge of amusement park or entertainment venue environments preferred
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical works
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills
