- THE ROLE -

As a key member of the School of Psychology, the role will support academic excellence in its broadest sense, as directed by the pressures/demands of the schools and faculties, at varying periods throughout the academic year.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and professional support service to the School, its students and Faculty. They will be involved in undertaking project work, analysis and research under three broad headings: Research, Teaching and Placement Support. However, while the main focus in this role may be on general duties and learning and teaching, the focus may change, according to the stage in the academic cycle.

- ABOUT YOU -

• Evidence of a good standard of literacy/numeracy as demonstrated by qualifications at GCSE grade 'C' or higher, or by relevant work experience.
• Experience of supporting at least one of the following areas within a higher education (or similar) context: quality assurance; academic audits; inspection by accrediting bodies; pursuit of excellence in teaching; research activity.
• Experience of organising events and making travel and related arrangements and of servicing meetings in a business/work environment, including taking notes and making a personal contribution to the work/actions arising from committees/meetings.
• Experience of the extraction and input of data within management information systems/databases as well as drafting routine correspondence, papers, reports and spreadsheets and the preparation and formatting of documents across different desktop and IT office applications.
• Working knowledge of a complex financial operating system within an organisation with experience of monitoring grants and budgets.
