SEN Teacher (Secondary) - Specialist SEN School


Location: Knutsford, Cheshire
Salary: MPS1 - MPS6 + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Dates: Immediate and September Available

Are you a qualified SEN Teacher with QTS or QTLS seeking a rewarding role within a specialist SEN setting that truly invests in its staff?

We are delighted to be working with a highly regarded specialist SEN school in Knutsford, set within beautiful grounds and equipped with excellent facilities and specialist resources. Due to continued growth, the school is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join their thriving and supportive community.

The school supports students aged 11-16 with a wide range of additional and complex needs, including Autism (ASC), PMLD, complex learning difficulties, and other neurological conditions. A strong emphasis is placed on personalised learning, therapeutic support, and preparation for adulthood.

The Role

As a SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver highly differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of your students. You will focus on both academic progress and the development of independence and life skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering personalised learning for secondary-aged students (KS3-KS5)
  • Supporting learners with Autism, PMLD, and complex needs
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and therapists
  • Creating a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP targets

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS or QTLS (essential)
  • Has experience teaching secondary-aged students
  • Has prior experience in a SEN or specialist setting
  • Demonstrates patience, adaptability, and creativity
