Consultant Radiologists (Breast Imaging)

10 PA available - Various part time options considered

Salary Scale - £111,430 to £148,064 per annum (pro rata if part time)

Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Consultant Breast Radiologist to join NHS Forth Valley's 17 member General Consultant Radiology team. The role is based in the symptomatic breast service with the option to work part time or full time, and includes cross board working with NHS Fife, Lanarkshire, Dumfries and Galloway, and support for Island Health Boards.

The department is a cohesive unit with subspecialty interests. Senior trainees from West and South East Scotland training schemes rotate through, and there are strong relationships with clinical consultants across the hospital.

Forth Valley Royal Hospital serves approximately 310,000 people, has state of the art digital radiology equipment, and is situated centrally between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The setting offers a blend of city and country lifestyle, excellent transport links, and quality schools.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver consultancy within the symptomatic breast service.
  • Provide cross board support to NHS Fife, Lanarkshire, Dumfries and Galloway.
  • Attend breast screening sessions as required.
  • Support remote and rural general radiology sessions for Island Health Boards.
  • Mentor trainees and contribute to the department's teaching agenda.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain up to date clinical practice.
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration and licence to practice.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent.
  • Within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT, or registered on the GMC Specialist Register for Portfolio pathway applicants.
  • Evidence of recent academic and professional development.
  • Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills.
